Without so much as a peep from Rockstar, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for iOS has mysteriously popped up on the iTunes store in New Zealand. It is in fact the actual game and is currently selling for $9.99 NZD, which is roughly $6.99 USD. Oddly enough, the game only weighs in at 1.63GB -- a drastic size drop compared to the Xbox, PS2 and PC versions of the game. It is available in 8 languages: English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Spanish. The mobile features according to the store page are as follows:
Supported devices are:
No word yet when SA will jump borders to other countries nor any word if Android and Windows Phone will get shafted.
EDIT: San Andreas now appears to be on both the US and UK iTunes stores. The price is currently $6.99 in the US and £4.99 in the UK. As of 12:21 AM EST, the game doesn't appear to be on Google Play nor the WP Store. Rockstar continues to be completely silent.
11 Dec 2013 - Grand Theft Auto V 1.07 update released

As promised, Rockstar has released patch 1.07 for Grand Theft Auto V. This patch brings a beta version of the job editor for Grand Theft Auto Online along with a number of changes. The official change log is below, though there are some extra changes that Rockstar didn't mention in the log, including one really worrying change.
The community later discovered a number of extra changes Rockstar did not mention. One such change is the fact that the Rat-Loader, Tornado and the clean variant of the Rebel are now "banned" vehicles and will be removed from your garage forcefully without warning or refund of LSC modifications. Both vehicles spawn normally during multiplayer, do not have any known issues, and can be heavily customized by the player. When asked why they were removed, Rockstar stated that the Rat-Loader is a "utility vehicle" and they are not meant to be stored in garages. This is actually inaccurate as both Social Club and the game itself classify it as a "muscle car" and many players owned it as it can be customized to look similar to the Hotknife, a collectors edition vehicle. The reason given for the Tornado and the Rebel is that they are supposed to be single player only vehicles, despite spawning in multiplayer.
Now while removing vehicles that weren't supposed to be there is okay with me, especially ones that were hacked in, the part that bugs me is the fact no refunds are given to the player. Many spent well over $100,000 in-game money to customize their Rat-Loader, not exactly chump change unless you glitched your way to the top, just to have it removed for no valid reason. Factor in the fact Rockstar is taking actual money in exchange for in-game money and you can see this is bad practice. There needs to be more transparency and a refunds system in-place for when things like this happen, otherwise what trust can the player have that the $20 he/she spent in real life for virtual goods won't just disappear in the next patch? Rockstar has seemingly been listening to player feedback and making drastic changes to online because of it, so hopefully they listen to the negative feedback they are getting on this issue.
Lighting bolts have been added back to stormy weather in this patch. They were silently removed in one of the early patches. BOOCAKE4U over at GTAForums spotted that a statue over at Vespucci Beach was changed for some reason.

The long awaited job editor for Grand Theft Auto Online is finally upon us. Rockstar has confirmed that a beta of the job editor will be dropping as early as tomorrow, December 10th. This inital release will be limited to: deathmatch, team deathmatch, race, GTA race and rally race. Once you've perfected your job, you can unleash it upon the public using Social Club. The best community jobs will be featured by Rockstar under the label "Rockstar Verified Jobs."
Also coming this month is a brand new team mode: capture. Similar to capture the flag, up to four squads will battle it out stealing drugs, vehicles and other items from each other. There will be four variations of the mode: raid, contend, hold and GTA. Rockstar will release specifics on these modes later this week. The mode is free of charge.
Coming in the next year, Rockstar is planning to release the already announced heist jobs for GTA Online. However, Rockstar has also announced that new "substantial additions" to Grand Theft Auto V single player are also in the works.

Was there really ever any doubt? Rockstar has announced that just like Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City, San Andreas will also be making the jump to mobile devices. This time around, however, SA mobile will be making an appearance on Windows Phone as well as iOS and Android. While not officially stated, it wouldn't be too hard to see it make it over to Windows RT and Windows 8 Metro later on.
The mobile version is said to include the usual mobile upgrades: dynamic and detailed shadows, greater draw distance, an enriched color palette, plus enhanced character and car models. In addition, the mobile version is also bringing a reworked checkpoint system, new contextual controls and three different control schemes for both driving and walking.
While Rockstar claims December is the target date, no specific release date was mentioned nor if SA will also have a staged iOS then Android then other devices release as is typical Rockstar fashion.
