While the PC version of Max Payne 3 has had a very positive launch (for myself included), there are still a few issues to be addressed. Rockstar has acknowledged this and has already released the first patch for the game. This patch brings fixes for the most common problems people are having. Below is the changelog. To get the patch, simply launch the game.

Compatibility Issues
* Fixed reported issues with needing service packs, compatibility with incorrect OS.

Various Crashes
* Fixed a range of issues which could have led to crashes on startup and in-game.

Audio Crash
* Fixed reported issues of audio dropouts when no audio device was plugged in, or when the headphones/speakers disconnected while in game.

Mouse Sensitivity
* Fixed reported issues of mouse being sluggish, especially in prone and Shootdodge™. Increased top end range of mouse sensitivity, but kept the slider from 1-10, allowing the user more range in their sensitivity setting.

Mouse Acceleration
* Fixed reported issues of mouse acceleration affecting aiming, included commandline option to disable mouse acceleration, -nomouseaccel (In a future update, this will be added as an option in the Mouse Controls menu).

Stretched Image / Wrong Aspect Ratio
* Fixed reported issues of game locked in incorrect aspect ratio, or alt-entering and having incorrect aspect ratio. Added commandline option for locked aspect ratio as commandline option -aspectratio width:height  (ie. -aspectratio 4:3 / -aspectratio 16:9) In a future update, this will be added as an option in the Graphics menu.

Video Memory Reporting as 0MB
* Fixed reported issues of the video card reporting having 0MB of video memory available.  Users unable to adjust Graphics options because of this (Also helps fix stuttering on some video cards).
Rockstar also noted that they will be addressing the issue of cheaters and hackers in an upcoming patch.

Steam seems to be getting a lot of love from Rockstar. They recently gave Max Payne 1 and Max Payne 2 to people who pre-purchased Max Payne 3 on Steam before the 15th, gave Midnight Club 2 to anyone who joined the Rockstar Steam Group before the 15th and now Rockstar is being generous yet again. Anyone who pre-purchases Max Payne 3 on Steam before May 28th at 9PM pacific time will receive a copy of L.A. Noire. This offer also applies to anyone who has already pre-purchased Max Payne 3 on Steam and if you already own L.A. Noire, you can gift it to a friend! If you have yet to pre-order Max Payne 3 PC, Steam is looking like your best bet to catch all the deals and DLC! Max Payne 3 for PC releases June 1st internationally.

After a few delays, Rockstar has unleashed a truck load of new information and screens of Max Payne 3 on the PC. First up is a ton of eye candy in full 2560x1578 glory. You can view all the screens over at the official Max Payne 3 site.

Next on the list, PCWorld conducted a brand new interview with Kevin Hoare, lead PC designer at Rockstar Toronto. A number of juicy PC details are revealed in the interview. Here's just a snippet revealing the level of graphics customization:

What are you doing to take advantage of the powerful hardware available in a PC?

As you can see from the specs list above, we’ve worked hard to make sure the game will run smoothly on a wide range of PC builds. But it’s when you get towards the top end of that range that you can really push a game to its limits, and the game will look and run incredibly on the most advanced current machines around at the moment and well into the near future.

You’ll find that screen resolution is scalable, there’s triple and even sextuple monitor support which helps to run higher screen resolutions, there’s various anti-aliasing options, scalable water quality, scalable shadow quality, increased detail for characters and vehicles and a scalable texture filter that further increases visual quality. We’re also supporting DX11 with Max Payne 3, with features including Hull/Tessellation/Domain Shaders (which adds curvature to the character/vehicle models), Gather4 (for optimized shadow sampling / FXAA), Geometry shader / Stream Output and DX11 texture samplers to name a few.

As you can tell, there’s a lot for PC fans with higher-spec hardware to sink their teeth in to.

Also included in the interview is an updated and more detailed system requirements list.

The first DLC pack for Max Payne 3 has been released and the best part is that it's free to everyone. The Gorilla Warfare Pack includes three items to your loadout options: the Gorilla Mask Item which gives you extra adrenaline for melee kills from behind, the Lucky Coin Item which gives you extra cash from looting and the Booby Trap item makes your corpse booby trapped so that it explodes when looted. The pack is currently live now on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. It will be made available to PC players on launch day as well.
